A conversation between Alessandro Stillo, Secretary General for the International Association of the Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean (BJCEM) and Professor Terry Shave, Head of Visual Arts at Nottingham Trent University.

BJCEM was founded in 1984 and the UK have been involved since 2008, with four universities from across the Midlands and Arts Council England forming a partnership, UK Young Artists (UKYA) to manage the UK submissions.

It was announced in September this year that Nottingham is to host the first global exhibition of young artists immediately after the 2012 Olympic Games, forming the finale of the East Midlands contribution to the UK Cultural Olympiad.
