The 21st video in our series following artist-led initiatives sees us interview Paul Newman & Arlene Burnett from Behind Closed Doors in their current project space, The Rea Garden.

Arlene and Paul started working together after they completed their Masters in Fine Art at the University of Central England in 2004, where they began curating exhibitions out of the ‘traditional’ gallery setting. Leon was invited to take part in the 18th Storey – The Haddon Tower Projectin 2006 and has been working with them ever since. The latest project by Behind Closed Doors is The Rea Garden. The Rea Garden is a small area of land cut off from the public for almost twenty years within the once industrial Digbeth area of Birmingham.
